Job Description:

Diagram is seeking an Analyst to join the Crypto/AI team and contribute to launching new ventures. This role involves working directly with Diagram Partners, potential founders, and expert advisors to lead the ideation, evaluation, and de-risking of new ideas in Crypto & AI. The analyst will play a key role in turning ideas into companies and shaping Diagram’s Crypto & AI portfolio. This position reports to the Venture Creation Senior Principal.

Responsibilities

Develop investment theses and perspectives on opportunity areas.
Generate and pitch new venture ideas.
Conduct user and market research, perform market sizing, analyze competitive landscape, and assess business models and unit economics to evaluate potential ideas.
Develop pitch decks and investment memos.
Own the work plan and lead the de-risking of ideas via pre-seed testing in collaboration with engineering, product, growth, and other external experts.
Pitch ideas to entrepreneurs, participate in the vetting process, and build close relationships with founders.
Contribute to building Diagram’s culture and brand in the Crypto + AI communities by attending startup community events, conferences, etc.

Requirements:

0-2+ years of work experience in relevant fields such as:
– Venture building at a venture studio.
– Early-stage tech startup experience as a founder, product manager, growth marketer, engineer, or other operational capacity, preferably in crypto or AI.
– Management/Strategy consulting or investment banking focused on tech products/businesses.
Knowledge, experience, network, or demonstrated interest in Crypto and/or AI (e.g., active participation in crypto/NFT/DeFi investing and communities; experimenting with LLMs and AI-powered products; joining AI meetups, etc.).
A track record of outstanding performance.
A proven entrepreneurial mindset, high degree of ownership, and a self-starter mentality.
Intellectual curiosity and rigor.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) – comfortable pitching ideas and producing high-quality deliverables.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to build financial models and conduct market sizing.
A technical (Engineering, Computer Science, Economics) or Business degree.

Experience in both AI and crypto sectors.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience attending and participating in industry conferences and events.
