Lisk Forms Key Alliance with Indonesian Ministry to Elevate Web3 Startups

Lisk, recognized for its Layer 2 platform leveraging the OP Stack, has embarked on a pivotal partnership with the Directorate General of Informatics Applications at the Indonesian Ministry of Communications & Informatics Technology (DGIA MCIT). This collaboration is aimed at boosting Indonesia’s burgeoning Web3 startup landscape.

DGIA MCIT, the governmental body responsible for managing Indonesia’s communication and IT sectors, spearheads the “1000 Startup Digital Program.” This initiative is dedicated to fostering digital innovation, promoting digital solution development, and cultivating a vibrant startup ecosystem nationwide.

Lisk’s partnership with DGIA MCIT will see it offering the foundational developer platform, as well as mentorship and seed funding to Web3 startups participating in the 1000 Digital Startup Program.

Max Kordek, Lisk’s Founder, expressed enthusiasm about the venture: “Since our inception in 2016, our mission has been to make blockchain technology accessible to all. As we focus on Layer 2 solutions to assist developers in Emerging Markets, partnering with DGIA MCIT in Indonesia presents a remarkable opportunity to further our goals alongside such a formidable partner.”

Furthermore, Lisk aims to collaborate with DGIA MCIT to develop educational content on Web3 technologies, aiming to close the knowledge gap for Indonesian Web3 innovators. This educational initiative will include an ‘Introduction to Blockchain’ course, covering essential topics like consensus mechanisms and network structures, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of blockchain technology.

Aligned with the Onchain Foundation‘s objectives, this partnership seeks to enhance the 1000 Startup Digital Program by offering critical support at various development stages. Through Bootstrap Grants, mentorship programs, community engagement, and promotional activities, Lisk is dedicated to nurturing a flourishing Web3 ecosystem within the initiative.

Semuel A. Pangerapan, the Director General of Informatics Applications, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “This partnership transcends a simple agreement; it represents a forward-thinking move to promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and empowerment in blockchain technology. Our goal is to educate and inspire Indonesian entrepreneurs and developers, equipping them with the necessary skills to leverage blockchain technology effectively.”

This initiative underscores Lisk’s strategic commitment to Emerging Markets, emphasizing its dedication to empowering developers in these regions. By focusing on blockchain solutions that address local challenges through the use of real-world assets (RWA), off-chain assets (OCA), and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), Lisk is keen on delivering impactful solutions tailored to local needs.
